Dashboard → My Portfolio → Website Creator
What just happened: Every change autosaves to your draft. Your live site does not change yet.
Builder → Publish (top right)
What just happened: Publishing replaces the public snapshot of your site. Until you click it, visitors keep seeing the previously published version no matter how much you edit.
Worth knowing: You can keep several portfolios and only one is LIVE. Use the portfolio menu (top left) to Save as… a draft copy and experiment safely.
Builder → Design tab
What just happened: Design settings are site-wide and apply to every page of that portfolio — after you publish.
Every control on these screens, and what it does.
Below is every control in the Website Creator and what it actually does. If you are looking for how to build a page rather than what a particular field means, the steps above cover that — this is the reference you come back to.
| ← Exit | Leaves the builder. It waits for the last save to be confirmed first; if the server cannot be reached you get Try again / Leave anyway / Copy my changes rather than a silent loss. |
| <portfolio name> ▾ | The portfolio menu. Switch between your portfolios (each one opens in its own tab), rename, or Save as… a copy to experiment in. |
| <page> ▾ | Choose the page you are editing, add a page, or delete one. |
| + Section | Inserts one ready-made section layout below the current one, or a 3-tab in-page tab group. On a blank page it replaces the empty starter section. |
| + Block | Places one block in the middle of the visible part of the current section, already selected. See the catalog below. |
| Design | Site-wide settings: fonts, brand colour, page padding, phone reflow, image protection, custom CSS. |
| Templates ▾ | Switch the whole site to a different template at any time. It replaces every page, so it lists the pages it overwrites and asks first. |
| − 100% + / Fit / ▦ Grid | Canvas zoom and the alignment grid. ⌘+ / ⌘− step the zoom, ⌘0 returns to 100%, Fit re-fits the whole page. View settings only — they never change the design. |
| Desktop / Phone ▾ (two picture buttons) | Which size you are looking at. Phone shows your real page at phone width beside the Desktop page — it rearranges itself into one column — with ↗ Check it for real and Open on my phone ▸ above it. Tablet sits behind the small ▾; there every block keeps the position you give it for tablets. |
| ⟲ History | Opens the History drawer (⌘Y): every step on this page in plain words, newest first — Moved the photo, Changed Section 2 to Dark, Removed Section 4 “Pricing” — with Saved 11:58 and Published 11:12 rows the server keeps. Click a row to look at that version; Restore this version puts it back (and is itself a step). ⌘Z / ⇧⌘Z still work. |
| Saved chip | Whether the server really has your last edit: Saved · just now, Saving…, Not saved — retrying, or Not saved · 4 changes waiting with a Retry button. |
| Live chip | Not published yet, Live · 3 pages changed (header & footer changed when only those did), or Live · up to date. When every change can be named it counts changes instead — Live · 6 changes behind (Live · 6 behind on smaller screens) — and that number is always the total of the lines Draft vs Live lists; otherwise it counts pages. Greys out while a save is on its way. Click it for Draft vs Live: one row per page (Home · 3 changes, with the changes in plain words under it — Section 1 background changed, “Authentic, heartfelt…” edited — six at most, then and 3 more) with Restore and Compare on a changed page, plus Preview my draft ▸, Open my live site ▸ and Compare with live. |
| Publish | Opens a sheet — it never publishes on click. Going online / Going offline by page, a ⚠ line if another portfolio goes offline, then Publish 4 pages. One changed page opens as a single line, 1 change · Home (3 changes · Home when its changes are named); page rows say 3 changes the same way. Success shows Published at 12:41 pm with Open ▸, Put back the old version and Done; failure turns red, keeps the list and ends with Nothing changed. Reads Save first while anything is still saving, and Nothing new to publish when the live site already matches. |
| ⋯ | Guide, Exit, Preview my draft, Earlier versions… (every published version, with Preview and Restore), Replace with a template… (destructive — it lists the pages it overwrites), Reset page. |
Worth knowing: History is one list per page across Desktop, Tablet and Phone — an undo can move a block on a size you are not currently looking at. A drag is one step, a click that moves nothing is none, and a run of nudges or a burst of typing is one.
Headings in the page list read “Section 1 · Welcome”, “Section 2”… (named from each section's first text) and, for sections inside a tab strip, “Section 3 · Highlights” — the tab's own name, so you can tell three near-identical gallery sections apart.
| Edit | Settings for whatever is selected right now — a block, a section, several blocks, or the site header/footer. |
| Design | Site-wide settings: fonts, brand colour, page padding, phone reflow, image protection, custom CSS. Changes here hit every page of this portfolio. |
| Everything on this page | Every section and block on the page, top of each pile first. Each row is a small live picture, the thing's name and a 👁 Shown / Hidden switch for the size you are looking at. Click a row: it is selected, the page scrolls to it and its outline pulses twice. ⇧-click adds to the selection. |
| Close | Folds the panel away so the page gets the room. |
| The slim strip | With nothing selected the panel folds into a 56px strip and the canvas widens. Its three buttons (This section · Design · Everything on this page) show their names when you point at them; clicking anything on the page opens the panel again. |
Every panel opens on what the thing IS — the real photo, a picture of the section or the form as it publishes — never on its position.
Settings sit in groups you can fold. A folded group always shows a grey line of what is inside it (“Fill · 12px corners · described”, “x 90 · y 60 · 460 × 440”), and the builder remembers which groups you leave open.
A setting that could do nothing right now is not shown at all (not greyed): “Darken the background” only appears over a photo, video or gradient; “Move up” is not on the first section.
On phones is always next to last, Position (exact numbers) always last and folded. Rarely needed extras are under ⋯ More at the top. Remove is red text at the very bottom — instant, with an 8-second Undo.
On Phone or Tablet, sizes kept per device name the device in their group (“Look — on phones”), show that device's size, say “Desktop stays at 42px.” and offer ↺ Same as Desktop.
A section is a full-width horizontal band of the page. A block is a thing inside it — text, an image, a gallery. They have completely different panels, and clicking in the wrong place is the single most common source of “I can't find that setting”.
Click a block to select the block. Click empty space inside a section to select the section. Press Escape to deselect everything.
The selected section shows + Add above and + Add below on the canvas. Change layout →, Move up / Move down, Duplicate and Remove section are in its panel.
Picks a complete multi-page site: The Elopement, The Celebration, The Heirloom, The Essential, The Signature, Jennifer, Lullaby, Horizon, Blueprint, Linen & Light, Atelier, Noir, and more.
Applying a template replaces your current pages. Do it first, before you have work worth keeping — or use the portfolio menu's Save as… to keep a copy of what you have.
A slide-in panel of pre-built sections, filtered by category. This is the fastest way to build, and unlike Templates it only adds.
Categories: Hero · Cover · Image + Text · Gallery · Video · Video + Photos · Quote · Text · Pricing · Call to action · Contact.
Gallery includes four big-photo-plus-thumbnail-strip layouts — strip on the right, on the left, below with a slideshow, and below on click only. Video includes a films-only arrangement (one feature plus two shorter films).
The same panel opens as Change layout when you use a section's control bar — that swaps the section's contents while keeping its position on the page, and keeps it inside its tab strip if it's in one.
Every card is a picture of the layout as it really renders. In Change layout each card also says what of the current section it keeps — "Keeps your headline and 1 photo." — matching your blocks to the layout's places by kind and in order; anything without a place stays where it was, and the line says how many. If a layout has been changed since its picture was taken, the card shows a plain drawing of it instead of an out-of-date picture.
My Portfolio › Create portfolio. Nothing is created until the last button.
Pick a design (hover a picture to see its second page; click it to look through every page with a phone view in the corner), then Use this design — or Start from a blank page.
Make it yours: Studio name (filled in from your account; goes in your header and footer), Your photos (Choose an album — its photos drop into the design's photo places top to bottom in the album's order, carrying on into later pages when the album is long; the design keeps its own pictures where the album runs out), and Look (nine font pairings shown in their own faces, eight colours, the design's own look picked to begin with — As designed when it is none of them). Every field can be skipped; the live home page on the right shows each change.
Open my site makes the portfolio in one go, named after the design, and opens it in the Creator's own tab as a draft. Nothing is online until you publish. A blank page opens with its headline selected.
Twenty block types in four groups. The block lands in the section you are currently working in; drag it where you want it.
| PAGE | |
| Header · site-wide | The navigation band shared by every page. Adding it turns the shared band on; it is not a per-page block. |
| Footer · site-wide | The same, at the bottom. |
| BASIC | |
| Text | A text box. Multi-column capable. |
| Image | One image, from your albums or your device. |
| Button | A link styled as a button. |
| Shape | A rectangle or ellipse — for colour panels and framing. |
| Line | A horizontal or vertical rule. |
| MEDIA | |
| Photo grid | Many photos as a grid or staggered; a click can open them larger. |
| Slideshow | The same images as a slideshow or a multi-slide carousel. |
| Video | YouTube, Vimeo, or a video from your own albums. |
| A grid of images presented as an Instagram strip. | |
| SECTIONS | |
| Contact Form | A working enquiry form — submissions arrive in Leads. |
| Testimonial | Client quotes. |
| Pricing / Packages | Plan cards with features and an enquiry button each. |
| Service Cards | Titled cards with a body and an icon or number. |
| Social Links | A row of social icons. |
| Newsletter | An email capture field. |
| Logo Bar | A row of client or publication logos. |
| Map | A map pinned to a latitude and longitude. |
| Accordion | Expandable question-and-answer items — an FAQ. |
| Embed / Custom Code | Raw HTML for third-party embeds. |
Worth knowing: Header and Footer behave differently from everything else in this menu: they are site-wide chrome, so adding one from any page turns it on for the whole site. Their panel ends with Take the header off every page / Take the footer off every page (instant, with Undo).
| Picture + Change layout → | A picture of the section as it will publish. Change layout → swaps its arrangement and keeps your photos and text. |
| Look · Background | Four picture tiles: Colour · Photo · Video · None. Photo and Video open your albums; “paste a video link instead” takes an MP4 / WebM address, shown in small text under the tiles once set. |
| Look · colour swatches | Under Colour: five swatches (Light · Light accent · Accent · Dark accent · Dark) tinted with your brand colour, each showing “Aa” in the ink it uses, then four gradient chips named under their swatches — Dusk · Peach · Deep sea · Blush. Changing the brand colour on the Design tab re-tints every accent section at once. |
| Look · Darken the background / Tint colour | Only over a photo, video or gradient: a wash that keeps text readable. |
| Look · How much the video shows | Video only: dims the footage itself. |
| Size & space | Height (for the size you are looking at), Full-width background (edge to edge), Fill the screen top to bottom. On Phone a section that stacks into one column is as tall as its blocks, so Height appears only once the section is placed by hand on phones. |
| On phones | Whether it stacks by itself into one column on phones, and Show this section on Desktop / Tablet / Phone. |
| Extras | As it scrolls into view (No animation · Fade in · Slide up), Scroll-down cue, Anchor (set “contact”, then point a button at #contact), In-page tabs. |
| ⋯ More → Advanced — gradient CSS | Type your own linear-gradient(…). |
| Move up · Move down · Duplicate | Move up is not shown on the first section, Move down not on the last. |
| Remove section | Red text at the bottom. Instant, with an 8-second Undo that names what the section held. |
A tab strip lets several sections occupy the same place on the page, with a bar of tab names to switch between them — “Ceremony / Reception / Portraits” without three separate pages.
Put a section into a tab group with Extras → In-page tabs → Make this a tabbed section. Once it is in one, its control bar shows + Add tab and + Add section to “<tab name>” — a tab can hold more than one section stacked.
The bar can be styled Underline, Pills, or Buttons, Centred or Left, and kept on screen while the visitor scrolls.
Worth knowing: Tabs are deep-linkable: ?tab=<name> on the URL opens the page with that tab already selected, so you can send a client straight to their part of the page.
X, Y, W, and H are stored separately for each of the three sizes. Moving a block on Desktop does not move it on Tablet — which is the point, but it does mean a change you made can look like it did not apply if you are looking at a different size. On a phone a section stacks into one column by itself, so its phone positions only count once you have placed it by hand.
| On phones | Where it sits on phones: two cards for the block's section — Stacked automatically (it stacks into one column on phones and follows your desktop edits) or Placed by hand (you positioned its blocks for phones, by dragging one on the phone — the only way in). Click Stacked automatically to hand the section back, with Undo. In a section placed by hand, Copy from Desktop puts the block (or, on the section's panel, every block in it) where it sits on Desktop, shrunk to the phone's width. On Desktop the group adds Copy → Tablet & Phone for the block. On Tablet the group reads Where it sits on tablets, with the block's position, Copy from Desktop and 👁 Not on tablets. |
| Position | Across (x), Down (y), Width, Height in pixels — folded, with the numbers on its summary line. Drag on the canvas does the same thing; type here when two blocks must match exactly. On Phone it appears only once the section is placed by hand — while the section stacks into one column there are no phone positions to type. |
| Arrange ▤ | Press and hold: a strip of everything in the section, top of the pile first. Slide onto a place and let go. A click opens the strip too; drag the highlighted picture or use the arrow keys. |
| Duplicate · Copy | Duplicate places a copy directly below. Copy keeps it for pasting on another page (⋯ More → Paste a copied block here). |
| On phones · 👁 Not on phones | Inside the On phones group (the only place it lives). Leaves the block off the phone version of the page; Desktop and Tablet keep it. It stays pressed while the block is off; the phone shows a grey marker where it was, and clicking the marker brings it back. |
| Remove <thing> | Red text, last. Instant, with an 8-second Undo. |
| Header | What you have — “3 photos”, “2 blocks” — over small pictures of the first three. |
| Align | Left · Centre · Right · Top · Middle · Bottom, each drawn as three boxes snapping into line. Lines them up on that edge or centre of the group. Only when they share a section. |
| Space evenly | Across · Down. The first and last stay; the gaps between become equal. Three or more, same section. |
| Match size | Same width · Same height · Both, to the largest. |
| On Phone | In a section that still stacks into one column, Align, Space evenly and Match size are not shown — one line says they line blocks up once the section is placed by hand on phones. In a hand-placed section they work as on Desktop. |
| The shared group | When they are all one kind: photos get one Fill / Fit, corners and Darken for text; text gets weight, alignment, font and colour; buttons get style and colour. |
| Swap all photos | Photos only: pick several — they go in, in the order you click them. |
| Arrange ▤ · Duplicate · Copy · Remove | As for one block, for all of them together. |
| The words | The text itself, and “Allow formatting tags” for bold, italic, links and lists. |
| Look | Size and Letter spacing (kept per device), Font, Weight (Regular · Semibold · Bold), Line up (Left · Centre · Right), Line height, Columns (1–3), Italic, Underline, and Colour — or “Colour matches the section” so it flips on dark sections. |
| When someone clicks it | Make the whole text a link — URL or one of your pages. |
Worth knowing: “Default (theme / system)” in Font means your Design tab body font, not a fixed typeface. That is why changing the font pairing restyles the whole site in one click.
| The photo (top) | The real photo; click it or Replace photo to pick another, or drop a file on it. “From: Goa 2025 · IMG_8841.jpg” names the album and file. |
| How it fills the box | Fill (crops to fill) or Fit (shows it whole) — both drawn with this photo in this box. |
| Rounded corners | Corner rounding. |
| Darken for text | A dark wash over the photo, with a live strip showing the result, so text on top stays readable. |
| Caption | Shown over the bottom of the photo. |
| Describe it for screen readers | Helps Google, and blind visitors. |
| When someone clicks it | Nothing happens · Open it larger · Go to a page or link (the address box appears only for the third). |
| Tint & border | How solid the photo is, Tint amount, Tint colour, Border with width and colour. |
| ⋯ More → Use a link instead | Use a web address for the photo instead of your library. |
| The shape | Rectangle or Oval, Fill, Rounded corners (rectangle only), How solid, and Move blocks placed on this shape with it. |
| Border | Width; the colour appears once there is a border. |
| Words inside | Optional words; font, size, weight, colour and position appear once there are some. |
| The line | Divider: Across or Up and down, Solid · Dashed · Dotted · Double, Thickness, Colour, Length, How solid. |
| The badge / Look | Badge: what it says; Size (kept per device), Letter spacing, Fill (blank = brand colour), Text colour, Pill shape, Capitals. |
| The photos | Images come from Hand-picked or From an album (it then follows the album). Hand-picked photos each have a caption and a link; ⤒ Add images adds many at once. |
| Layout | 2 / 3 / 4 across or Masonry, Columns, Gap, Corners, and what happens when the pointer is over a photo (Nothing · Zoom · Fade). |
| When someone clicks a photo | Nothing happens · Open it larger (full screen, with arrow keys). |
Worth knowing: Masonry preserves each photo's real aspect ratio, so mixed portrait and landscape sets never get cropped. Grid crops to a uniform tile — better for a tidy contact-sheet look.
| The photos | Hand-picked or From an album, as for the grid. |
| How it plays | One at a time or Carousel; Moves by itself (then Seconds on each); Change (Slide · Fade) or Photos in view (carousel); Arrows; Dots; Loop back to the start (carousel). |
| Look | Full width (edge to edge), Strip of small thumbnails — then Where the strip goes (Below · Left · Right) and Thumbnail size. |
Worth knowing: Moving by itself and the thumbnail strip are independent: with it on the big photo advances on its own and the strip is a shortcut; without it the photo only changes when someone clicks. Clicking a thumbnail stops it for good — the page should not slide away from the photo a visitor just asked to see.
| The video | Choose from your albums, upload a file (MP4 / WebM, 100MB), or a link from YouTube · Vimeo · A video file; plus a Cover picture. |
| How it plays | Starts by itself, Loops, Muted (not shown when it starts by itself — it is always muted then), Play / pause controls. |
| Look | Shape (16:9 · 4:3 · Square · 21:9) and Rounded corners. |
Worth knowing: Browsers only permit a video to start by itself when it is muted, which is why the builder mutes it for you.
| The packages | Heading, then each package: name, price, one feature per line, button words and where it goes (URL or Page), and Featured. + Add a package. |
| Look | Accent colour for the featured package and buttons. |
| Picture | The form as it will publish. |
| What it asks for | One row per question — “☰ Name required ✕ Remove”. Drag to reorder (or Alt + arrow on a focused row). Tap a row to rename it (Name, Email, Phone, Message), switch Required, and see its kind of answer (Text · Email · Phone · Date · Long answer). |
| + Add a question | Offers the questions not asked yet: Phone, Event date, Message, Subject, Company, Location, Budget, Number of guests. |
| What it says | Heading, Button, After they send. |
| Where it goes | Every enquiry lands in your Inquiries. |
| Look | Font, Heading size, Button colour, Text colour matches the section, One column · Two columns. |
Worth knowing: This form is wired up: submissions land in Dashboard → Leads and email you. No external form service is needed.
| Testimonial | What they said (+ Add a testimonial; quote, author, role, stars) · Look (Quote size per device, layout, columns, Rotate through them + Seconds on each). |
| Service cards | The cards (heading, + Add a card; title, description, icon, ↑ Up / ↓ Down) · Look (Space between cards per device, card background, columns, corners, colours, sizes, big number, corner decoration). |
| Numbers | The numbers (+ Add a number) · Look (Number size and Label size per device, colour, alignment, dividers). |
| Social links | Your links (network, profile address, your own icon) · Look (Icon size, Colour). |
| Newsletter | What it says (Heading, Line under it, Inside the box, Button) · Where it goes (your mailing-list address) · Look (Button colour). |
| Logo bar | The logos (Heading, Logo pictures) · Look (Logo height, Gap, Show the logos in grey). |
| The photos (your Instagram name, tiles with captions and links) · Layout (Columns, Gap). | |
| Album gallery | The album (which album, Photos or Videos) · Layout (Columns, Gap, Corner radius, Max items). |
| Map | The place: Latitude and Longitude. |
| Accordion | The questions (+ Add a question) · Look (One open at a time, Question size, Answer size). |
| Embed | The code · Safety (Keep it separate from the rest of the page — recommended). Only paste code from sources you trust. |
| Logo | Header: Name · Picture · Both, the picture and its height, your name, and where the logo goes when clicked. |
| Menu | The link list. Each item can be shown or hidden, styled as a button, opened in a new tab, given + sub items for a dropdown, and moved with ▲ Up / ▼ Down. |
| Layout | Desktop cards (Split · Grouped left · Centred · Minimal · Hamburger ☰) and Phone cards, Stays on top while scrolling, See-through over the first section. |
| Look | Height, Background, Text colour, Name size, Link size, Link colour (blank = matches the band), Button fill / Button text. |
| Footer | What it says · Links & socials · Contact details · Layout & look (style cards, logo, link columns, band colours, text size). |
| Take the header off every page | Red text at the bottom; instant, with an 8-second Undo. |
Worth knowing: Because these are site-wide, the panel says “On every page of the site.” Editing the header on your Contact page changes it on every page.
Nine pairings, each a heading face and a body face chosen to work together. Every one shows a live “Ag” in its own typeface so you can judge it without applying it.
| System (default) | Your visitor's own system font. Fastest, most neutral. |
| Editorial | Fraunces headings, Inter body. |
| Classic | Cormorant Garamond headings, Mulish body. |
| Modern | Poppins headings, Inter body. |
| Timeless | Playfair Display headings, Source Sans 3 body. |
| Warm | EB Garamond headings, Nunito Sans body. |
| Minimal | Archivo throughout. |
| Refined | Libre Baskerville headings, Karla body. |
| Bold | Anton headings, Inter body. |
Worth knowing: The body font cascades to all text automatically. To use the display face on a particular text block, set that block's Font to Heading in its own panel — the pairing only applies its heading face where you ask for it.
Eight saved palettes as colour dots — Noir, Gold, Terracotta, Sage, Slate, Plum, Rose, Ocean — plus a Custom picker for an exact hex value.
The brand colour is not decoration; it drives buttons and every section whose Color Scheme is Light accent, Accent, or Dark accent. Change it once and those sections all re-tint together.
Individual buttons can still override it in their own panel, which is how you get one deliberately different call to action.
A number from 0 to 120, in pixels, applied to each side. It pads the header and footer and guarantees at least that much whitespace between your content and the screen edge on narrower windows.
0 means flush edge to edge. The default is 24.
Worth knowing: This is the setting to reach for when a design looks fine on your monitor but cramped on a laptop — the content is touching the glass, not mis-sized.
On (recommended): the published site genuinely reflows at real device widths. Phone shows each section stacking into one column beside your Desktop page; drag a block there to place that one section by hand. Tablet (behind the small ▾) keeps every block where you put it.
Off: the desktop design is scaled down to fit, with no reflow — everything keeps its relative position but the text gets small. Only sensible for a deliberately poster-like single page.
Ticking it disables right-click and drag on images. Adding Watermark text also overlays a translucent watermark across the page; leave it blank for click-and-drag protection only.
Worth knowing: The panel is honest about this and so are we: it is a deterrent, not DRM. Anyone determined can still screenshot. For real protection, use a signature baked onto the file — see the Signatures section.
Selected block CSS is a read-only readout of the block you have selected, with a Copy button. Placement values are exact; visual properties are computed from the live render. It also tells you the selector to target that element with.
Custom CSS is a free-text box for advanced work. Rules are scoped to your site automatically and sanitised on publish — no @import, no script. Write plain selectors; the renderer prefixes them for you.
| ⌘Z / ⇧⌘Z | Undo / Redo — the tooltip names the step (Undo: moved the photo). |
| ⌘Y | Open or close History. |
| ⌘D | Duplicate the selection. |
| Delete / Backspace | Delete the selection. |
| Escape | Deselect everything. |
| Arrow keys | Nudge by 1px. |
| ⇧ + Arrow keys | Nudge by 10px. |
| ⇧ + click | Add to or remove from the selection — on canvas and in Layers. |
| ⌘+ / ⌘− / ⌘0 | Zoom in, out, back to 100%. |
| ⌘ + scroll | Zoom around the pointer. |
Every change saves to your draft as you make it. There is no Save button because there is nothing to remember to press.
Your live site is a separate frozen copy. It changes only when you press Publish. Between the two, the Live chip tells you how many pages differ — or how many changes, when every one can be named — and Draft vs Live (click the chip) lists them — a changed page can be restored to its live version from there.
Compare (in Draft vs Live) puts one page side by side: the live version on the left, your draft on the right, both drawn as visitors see them and scrolling together. Sections that changed are outlined in gold with their changes written on them; a removed section shows only on the left, a new one only on the right. Pick another changed page from Page; Close or Esc leaves. Compare never changes anything — Restore is in Draft vs Live.
Publish shows you the list before anything happens, and afterwards offers Put back the old version. If it fails, nothing changed online — the sheet says which version your visitors still see.
Preview shows the draft. If you want to check what the public currently has instead, open your published address in a normal browser tab.
To try something risky, use the portfolio menu's Save as… first. That gives you a second portfolio to experiment in, and only the one marked LIVE is public.
Every publish is kept. ⋯ → Earlier versions… lists them newest first with the live one marked Live now; Preview opens a version as visitors saw it, and Restore (after asking) puts your live site back to it — including which portfolio was live at the time. Your draft is never touched. The newest 30 versions of each portfolio are kept.
Worth knowing: The fine steps in History live in this browser tab and are kept per page while you move between pages. The server also keeps a version of each page on every save (one every couple of minutes, the last twenty) and on every publish — those Saved and Published rows are still in History after a reload or on another computer, and Restore puts one back.
Tell us the screen you're on and what you expected to happen — that's usually enough for us to spot it straight away.
